We begin this wonderful day of the week with a beautiful Mazda in the iconic Soul Red color, and on top of that – running on gas! How lovely! Mazdas with the SKYACTIV-G designation, equipped with direct injection engines, are excellent candidates for LPG installation. Let’s dive into the details of this project.
Mazda CX5 2.5 – Is it suitable for LPG installation?
The Mazda CX-5 utilizes proven and highly successful solutions from previous generations. Combined with precise steering and various safety features, the powertrain and chassis of the new Mazda CX-5 provide incredibly predictable handling and excellent response to driver commands, further enhancing the sense of unity between the driver and the car, known as Jinba-Ittai.
Under the hood of the popular CX-5 model, you’ll find a 2.5-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine. Of course, a large engine capacity raises the question – what about fuel consumption? And the fuel consumption is… quite reasonable. During calm highway driving with some city traffic, achieving a result of around 8-8.2 liters per 100 kilometers was not a problem. The more time spent in the city, the higher the average consumption, reaching up to about 10 liters per 100 kilometers. Considering the size of the vehicle, this is a good result. In fact, compared to other cars, even the lighter and smaller compact Opel Astra with a 1.6-liter gasoline engine producing 200 horsepower also consumes over 10 liters of gasoline. But with the ALEX IDEA LPG installation, the result will be even better!
LPG Installation for Skyactiv-G
ALEX IDEA is an innovative kit designed to convert gasoline engines with direct fuel injection (such as TSI, FSI, TFSI, GDI, T-GDI, EcoBoost, SkyActiv, DISI, JTS, TBI, SIDI, DIG, DIG-T, TCE) to run on gas. This advanced system enables significant fuel savings. Thanks to the use of special control algorithms, ALEX IDEA consumes only 5 to 15% of gasoline, while competing installations of this type require as much as 20-30% gasoline. It’s simply an ideal solution for the discussed Mazda engine.
